Destiny is a really good song. I just love Abe's drumming on this track and across this record. I think I already said they were recorded really well, but damn destiny is a solid solid Deftones track. It's a beautiful opener.
Also, so grateful to hear more material from them outside of the chugging era. Guitars are great. I love this album.
There will never be an album by this band that sounds anything even close to this as far as sonics and sound and choices. This is it. To me it's the holy Grail outside of what I already have.

I can't stop listening to Diamond from 2:30 onwards. It feels like it marks the end of something, like a farewell. Maybe it's just me letting my feelings for Chi get in the way.

I hate that the album leaked; I love the music.

Cheers

May I have a DM to the discord, please?

In the spirit of Deftones sometimes speeding their songs up live, I tried out Electra at 1.1x speed.

Felt like a nice addition of momentum for that track.

Such a good record, you can rearrange the songs however you want, but as somebody pointed out, diamond was definitely meant to be a closer most likely but Jesus, I just started incorporating smile and dallas to all the rest of it that I've already heard so many times and it was something that was going to be so amazing like most of us speculated. The guitar sound, the recording of the drums, the style in which Chino sings in, are a time capsule. I totally hear those early mid 2000s just after Saturday night wrist in this record and I am so thankful and grateful. I really still can't believe it happened.

I feel like Im dumb for never even considering doing this. Gonna give it a go...

I think that extra speed helps with the ending riff, too. Although I do like the original speed's Kyuss feel.

Trempest might work slowed down a tad (like it is in the studio clips), but its "chorus" section sounds off in the process.

Either way, there are definite seeds of KNY here: Electra-->Tempest, while Trempest is like a doomier, slower Poltergiest.
