I just watched Oldboy with my dad and sister....................awkward. One seriously twisted film *shudders*

Yeah, not exactly one I'd watch with the family gathered round the telly. Phat fuckin' film though.

oldboy is the fucking shit!!!!!!
great flick.

may i recommend SYMPATHY FOR MR. VENGEANCE and LADY VENGEANCE (part 1 and 3 in a vengeance trilogy that includes OLDBOY as part 2)
they are related only in theme, not by characters or whatnot. but they are awesome films nonetheless....

Yeah, the whole trilogy is fucking amazing

just watched Apocalypto
beautiful and disturbing...
i dunno.
i found it too be too far-fetched and historically inaccurate.

it did look nice, though.

mel shoulda stopped at braveheart.

Maaaaaate, Apocalypto totally blew me away.. How anyone could not love it I don't know. Watch it stoned.

Was a movie day yesterday:

Beerfest - A lot of hype from my friends but just didn't live up to it.  Had some hilarious parts though and all I wanted to do after was go drink a beer, which is what I did.

Fido - Funny zombie comedy that reminded me of a live action Stubbs the Zombie.  Recommended if you're into zombie films, know we have a few fans on here somewhere.
Randomly funny as hell and extremely amusing.

The Invasion - Builds to feverish intensity  all the way to the end.  I'm a huge fan of movies like this, all of the Invasion of the Body Snatchers movies and The Puppet
Masters.  Full of paranoia.  I always dread horror/suspense films that have huge budgets because more often than not they disappoint, but I was impressed
with this.  Nicole Kidman, definitely gorgeous and and hell of an actress.

Knocked Up - 5/5

what a fucking great movie!

one weak

can't wait for "Into the Wild"

such a great book, and i'm anxious to see how Sean Penn directs it.

Emile Hirsch looks exactly like Chris McCandless in parts of the movie.

theis

just watched Shooter.

it was pretty good.

3/5.

theis

Superbad (5/5)

Absolutely awesome and hilarious. I loved literally every second.

Superbad + Knocked Up = Two best comedies of the last 10 years or so.

ben

Saw 3:10 to Yuma last friday, I'd give it about a 7/10.  Bale is the man, the soundtrack was very good, and Crowe kept your interests in the movie going the whole way through with his performance.

I'll be seeing Shoot 'em Up this weekend and possibly The Brave One.

theis

official name for Indiana Jones 4:

Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull.

Jerry_Curls

Oh cool. The Indiana Jones rides in Tokyo DisneySea has the crystal skull reference.
..Yeah don't go there,

I let you get to me

yeah yeah.

3:10 to Yuma looks really good. I'd like to catch it in the theaters

theis

just watched The Seventh Seal.

simply magnificent.

4th Eye

Saw Saws. All of them in a row. They were ok but I got pretty bored in the end.

Breach Unborn

Is Saw 4 coming out Halloween?

defskull

So apparently the director's cut of Troy is better than the original.

ToneDef

Troy owns either way. Not much need for a directors cut.

"You think it's over but the game has just begun"
Blah, not again.... :P

Eastern Promises was really good.  I personally liked it more than A History of Violence.

A really great performance by Viggo Mortensen that I hope doesn't get overlooked this year.

theis

was it as brutal as the trailer made it look?
