I do know for certain that Chino did not want anybody to hear Margot. 🤣That is noises and sounds to make the landscaping for a melody. I'm sure everybody hears that because I can't make out any words really other than the name Margot a few times I think. Could just be my brain interpreting that sound with the title. But yeah, there's a few things on this unfinished record I'm sure he's not proud of that everybody's hearing. And yes, Melanie is fucking amazing. That's one of my jams right there of all jams. Anyone else have the thought that we will probably never know the lyrics to any of this? The ones that are done with solid lyrics, we will still have to interpret is my thinking.

i saw there's a thread where people are already trying to transcribe lyrics for the songs. if transcriptions ever get more solidified, i'm eager to see how things tie into the lyrics on the other albums since i've been working on a lyric motif tracing project for deftones' music for quite some time now. i have a version i did of just private music tracks (and of course i used that as a skeleton of sorts for the complete discography tracing), but there are motifs that show up in multiple albums outside of private music that i still need to format into the larger project.

i combed through potential lyrics for every track someone posted in one of the eros threads and i was already seeing a lot of connections there...👀

I haven't yet gotten to look at the Dallas files, but I've poked around the Destiny folder a little bit and theres a ton of raw vocal tracks in it as well as a Melodyne folder, which is pitch correction software (it does pitch analysis too, you can do some cool stuff with it). I could tell from the first listen to the album that there is autotune/pitch correction all over it, Dallas in particular it sounds pretty constant, and Electra they're just having wild fun with it.

I wonder what the plan was going to be for that, if they over-tuned everything just for the demos in a proof of concept, experimenting kind of way before Chino got his final takes down, or if they were aiming to go that hard on it in the final release.

melodyne and pitch correction are used on the final releases for studio perfection no matter what, so even the final vocal takes would've used pitch correction, maybe not to the extent we've heard but definitely would've used melodyne

I never expected back in 2000 to see 'Nightboat' get released on an official album.

Does anyone else feel overwhelmed with the amount of information we received in just one day?

This is gonna sound stupid, but I would have prefered for a single, tidy folder to have been dropped with just one batch of songs and that's it lol.

Now there are multiple versions of incomplete songs, people doing their own "remasters", etc.

I feel a bit dizzy...

That sheet with all the demos was insanity.

That mofo who they stole the leak from allegedly had a shit ton of private Deftones files. Wouldn't it be hilarious if stems/multitracks from all studio albums got leaked next?
