Yeah neither do I plus I like to have a physical copy anyway especially if the price is the same. Would be sweet if they made it like a special edition Chi memorial album and charged a bit more than usual but had it in really nice packaging with a decent booklet with stories about Chi with photo's, maybe with a t-shirt or something aswell.

I have a feeling we will never hear it.  :( It reckon it will be too hard for them. Just what i think anyway.

Trempest was a tentative Eros title. The band has addressed that it's a different song from Tempest.

That'd be a great idea, someone could probably suggest that to the band (in the future, not any time soon) if they were close enough.

Why not? the band has never said it wouldn't be released they've always just said it would be when the times is right , basically they said they were hoping they could release when Chi was conscious again.

If anything he probably had the bob ezrin demos or was just  talking bull shit.

Nail

Probably a dumb question. But was Eros actually completed? Like mastered and mixed? Or did they leave it in the demo phase?

Inkblades

All the instrumental parts are finished, but Chino was only about halfway through the vocals when Chi had the accident.

Nail

So if they released it would he finish the vocals or would it just be "as is"?

I think it would be released "as is" because Deftones have said that their records are some kind of "time stamp" and thats one of the reasons every record sounds different and i dont think that Chino will be able to go back to that emotinal space/state and write/sing lyrics that matches "Eros' sound"... but who knows really.

I just hope that they release everything and not just the finished songs with vocals.

I make music too

I know we'll only get something lame. I can feel it. Worst thing to me would be the band only releasing a handful of songs that "still fit their today's standpoint as a band", or even worse, rerecording the album and adjusting and tweaking it to their current style. I mean, I like KNY, but I would like Eros to be just as they used to describe it: dark, complex and heavy. Imagine an originally dark and moody song with new, "Entombed-like" vocals...

deftoolsys07

They will definitely not do any re-recording. I know I wouldn't. However, I think that when/if they decide to release something, it might only be one or two tracks that they feel are the best or most complete or best represent the rest of the album. Then after an outcry from the fans saying they want the whole thing perhaps even later they'd release it as is. But who knows.
