Another one that I'll miss out on because I'm Canadian.... Lol

Vesanic

Do you think they named Moana after the Italian porn actress Moana Pozzi?

Vesanic

Wanted to say Crenshaw Punch is a very original song. The structure may be kinda formulaic for those verses have this storytelling vibe that works really well. Love that jammy aspect on the final notes of the song too.

I have no idea but I know what I'll be doing after I finish Googling her.  ;)

On the topic of live performances, someone mentioned the Team Sleep sessions... omg yes, Chino never sounded better imo. His best recorded performance of his career? Prove me wrong Ves!

I heard an audience recording of that performance (which was longer than the Woodstock CD), and I guess it needs to be mentioned that Chino was more off-key than the CD makes it sound. Not to give bad rep or talk shit or anything, he still sounded very good, definitely one of his best performances in the last few years. You can barely find an artist that doesn't use autotune even to a small extent.

I really liked this performance, though Chino is off-key for a while, his shouts at 1:47 and 3:27 sound almost exactly like Corgan's on Mellon Collie and his voice is a great fit for this song. I covered that song myself a couple of years before that, it's my favorite SP track, I have a soft spot for it definitely. That "forever" at 2:32 is so good

Yes! That was such an epic moment with Smashing Pumpkins. Must have been amazing to be there for that. Chino does seem to sound really good if he's singing someone else's stuff. One of his best performances that comes to my mind is If Only Tonight We Could Sleep.

That kind of bums me out about the Woodstock sessions, I haven't really sat and watched any audience recordings of it tbh. There are of course many videos from when they were younger that were really amazing performances, such as Change on Letterman (I love that performance). There's another really good one (possibly even better) performance though right here:

and one of their best performances of MOS here:

That's really weird. I mentioned that in a different way yesterday in the Ohms post about how Chino sounds different and amazing when he does covers. I mentioned if only tonight we could sleep and ghosts ???

Hey guys, wtf happened here? I'd never seen this before, what an awful performance.

Inkblades

Chino's guitar was way out of tune. Blame his tech guy for that one.

LG95

Drunkenness, tech problems, tuning, the lot.

Should've just stopped and played another song.
I could float here forever

Gaz

Fecking hell, well out of tune

FUUUUCK!!!! had to revisit Gore just now and I haven't heard Rubicon in over a year probably. I think that song suffers the most from the bad mixing and or production. What a cool fucking song besides the "woooh" he  belts out and I'm not talking about after "the crowd goes wild " ...I'm talking about that single shreaky wooh. but that song is a killer track. The album really could have been great because they are mostly good songs. Damn. Damn. Damn it

Also, xenon sounds like Janes Addiction so fucking much that I'm almost convinced it's them LOL another one of my favorite all-time bands

Well it took me until now just today to actually realize I like it but I do at the same time have trouble with the lyrics. He's talking about something about not wanting to face you from the stage and at the same time sounds like he's talking to a lover so that part is confusing but I like the jam of it. It's very jammy To me I love the guitars

To be fair I've never really listened to the lyrics much. The mix bugs me. Singing at times bugs me. And the fact that it came at the end of a poorly mixed album also likely has something to do with it. But I should give it another shot
