I basically got a free "official" version of Entertain Me, in the end.

Same here. Got a email notification and refund. Downloaded it too.

Not gonna pretend I know where the beef for fighting back and forth is coming from but I can see Deftones taking pride in the type of material they'd like released, quality of product, the spotlight of where they were in their careers at the time, etc.  I see the loopholes andrew went through to try and make it a unofficical/official kinda thing. Having a "snaphot" of yourself during a certain timeframe isn't probably all that comfortable sometimes. Retrospection and all that. Regardless, I'll collect everything they release. It's always a few notches above a lot of other bands I enjoy.

Basically, my opinion on "Entertain Me" was written on my fansite yesterday. I don't think I should add something else.

His plot of sharing money from buying movie (50% to Chi's family, 50% to repay debt) was good, but it didn't work out in an effective way, all the legal issues and so on aren't on Andrew's site, not looking at Velvet Hammer's(?) reply. One of the ways of sharing and monetizing his work (close to be legal) could be organizing some "exhibitions" with the movie being depicted or caritative gigs with bands playing 'Tones songs, maybe with private appearance and/or "patronage" by Deftones members.
We could also pay this $10 direct to Bennett, but you know, he must be informed on such matter, must pass PayPal or stuff accounts to send the money (like in Chi's fundraiser), but Andy is offline at present, I guess.
