I could get hearing aids to help for the time I do have some hearing left so that should make the transition into silence a little less painful.

---About a week ago I woke up and couldn't hear out of my right ear at all and noticed my hearing in my left ear was diminished. I assumed it had something to do with the cold I was getting over because I had been very congested. I waited a week and it hasn't gotten any better so I went to see a doctor last night. I'm losing my hearing. I'm almost completely deaf on the right and have about 3/4 of my hearing on the left. It will continue to diminish and I will be deaf at a young age. I'm 24 and a musician. Music is my absolute everything and the only thing that makes me feel like not giving up every day. In a few short years I won't have that anymore. This has been devastating.

Have you seen more than one ENT or Audiologist ?

there is alot of misdiagnosis when it comes to hearing loss and alot of treatments available especially now .
In this day and age dont give up bro..

my pops has been half deaf since he was born and in just the last 6 years has found the right tools to help him
and its really changed his life.

I haven't quite given up. I'm going to see some hearing specialists.  I'm holding onto the hope of misdiagnosis.

Beethoven was still able to compose after he lost his hearing. That's pretty fucking remarkable.

But I hope this is a misdiagnosis. I can't imagine what you're going through right now. I'm so sorry.

Sorry about that. People just seem to plan their lives out too much and have all these great expectations but you can't predict and plan the future then end up older, disappointed and have regrets. You just need to enjoy your youth while you have it.

But the job is taking a little too much effort and attention sometimes, so I lose time for making more music, working hard to perform better and so on. This is so frustrating. I want to follow my dream because it is my path, forever with music, a composer, a performer, a singer.. and now it's all being taken away by the "grown up 9-to-5 giving up your dream reality".
