Quote from: Roidrage on Jan 25, 2025, 01:01 AMThe original Ohms tour before covid hit was supposed to start in July, which was when the Ohms album was originally supposed to drop.  Maybe they're gonna drop the single on us once the tour kicks off.

Chino talks about the Original Ohms rollout here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wZ0xBXqb8Ek&t=140s

Good catch. They also played a bunch of shows in March 2016 before Gore dropped. Come on next week!

Feels good to be back! I still remember when diamond eyes leaked, feels like it was just yesterday.. anywho 2 more hours?

I genuinely thought there was no way they would go on this upcoming tour without dropping the album. In April 2024 Chino said the music was done, he just had to finish vocals.

27 years as a fan and I still have not learned my lesson I guess lol. Would love something, anything at this point. I thought worst case scenario would be they would play a new song on this tour. Someone made a good pont though in a reddit post. In 2025 (especially considering Deftones have become wildly popular again) bands/labels probably don't want the first listen of a new song to be a phone recording. Following this logic, the plan would have to be one of two things. 1: Single will be released before the tour. 2: Tour is simply to get people hyped and engaged with Deftones again for maximum exposure when the album rollout starts, *after* this tour.

We'll see. Would love some sort of rumored drifter to let us know what to expect.
Throw your faith in me. I'll take you some place brand new....

Yes, the new era is on the horizon. A little more patience won't hurt. For now, the focus should be on enjoying the energy they'll bring to the stage and trusting that when the new material does arrive, it'll be worth the wait.

It's eerily quiet on social media from them. I'm getting more hype for a possible teaser post as the next time they post on Instagram.

Nail

So many things have gone away. So many of the old ways are gone. Yet here we all are. Coming back to this antiquated medium to discuss this band. It's truly amazing. Some of you have been on here for 20+ years. And you keep coming back. I have mad respect for that. I love seeing these names pop up again. I love coming back here daily hoping for just a kernel of news. It's no different than before.

 Here, time has stood still.

That was my 4000th post! Only took me twenty years. This one's 4,001.

While we're waiting, check out this new Poison The Well jam to hold you over (first new song in sixteen years):

I thought this would be the case. There's no way they'd go on a ~year long tour without releasing a completed album.

Spring 2026, boys

If that's true then it correlates with the earlier rumour that they've gone and written more songs since the last update.

Yeah, I'm assuming they've amassed a lot of material at this point. I know roughly eleven songs is the Deftones tradition and who knows what will make the final cut, but I'd love a Crosses type of situation where we get like twenty new songs over the course of a year or two. Or if that's overshooting it lol, at least a couple b-sides.

I'm calling BS on any supposed "Rumors" or pretend insiders. No way the label is letting them go on a full tour and they're still in the studio. No chance in hell.

The only legit info we have is:

April 2024 Chino said they have a whole album recorded, and he needed to record vocals. He emphasised they weren't in a rush.

May 2024 Chino was photographed in the studio with the producer.

December 2024 Chino's wife said Chino was working on "important album business".

Their silence does add to the mystique, even if its often maddening.

I recall most of their album tracklists usually being revealed in advance by the press, but it would be really unique if the opposite happened. Imagine them just giving us some cryptic teasers and a single, but no tracklist reveal until the album drops. I think that type of rollout would really fit this new Gen Z-influenced social media era we live in.

Diplo

A cryptic teaser and a single would be cool.
Nowadays we got 3 to 5 singles drop before the album release but I dont see them doing that.

This is true. SL is like the ends of the earth for Deftones fans. Antarctic research station from The Thing status.
