That's pretty awesome. I like what I'm hearing there when comparing it to Chino's lyrics. Yeah I think Team Sleep just edited out the two figures. What version of Saturday night wrist did not include this? This came right out of my Album jacket. It's an original CD so maybe the reissues skimped or something? That art jacket was one of if not the best in my opinion.

A drawing I made in 2008 for the album, Eros. I was going to add color and include the title and everything but like the album, it was scrapped.

worth mentioning that mountain/lake background was originally used in team sleep

chino howling about how "there's nobody home" over and over is peak deftones.  so many ways of interpreting that phrase.  that's a not a line you write; it's something that comes out of you.

edit: to elaborate on how it could be interpreted:

• that panic as a kid when you get home from school/sports, only to find that your parents aren't home and you don't know why
• sad feeling when being on tour to come home and see your fam has kept themselves busy with other obligations
• a twist on "lights are on, but no one's home" - perhaps critiques that chino took to heart that were said about him during dark days
• just a cool phrase that is somewhat nostalgic, cryptic, moving, and open to interpretation
