No, he really isn't, he's just telling the truth. You're just getting confused about what songwriting means. It's well acknowledged that before Sergio joined, it was essentially Chino or Stef who would start and build the basis of a song. That's why since White Pony, there's always been so much stuff about whether certain songs are Chino songs or Stef songs. I don't remember any song where they said "actually Chi wrote this song". He'd have written his own parts, just like Abe and Frank, and he'd have had his own input but it was always portrayed in interviews that Chino and Stef were the 'songwriters', the ones who brought in ideas, riffs, structures, melodies etc and then everyone would build from that. Sergio himself is a songwriter so since he's joined, he's clearly part of that process. Chino and Stef have themselves essentially said that the ideas originate from them or Sergio.

I know he brings in ideas, that's not the point.just because it's true doesn't mean it isn't disrespectful to say certain things in certain contexts. It's not up to sergio in his place to talk shit about dead members of the band in media like this. if any person at all should say, after chi is dead, that chi didn't contribute in the band, that should come from the others, not the guy that took his place. of course, the others don't shit on his legacy like this.
