Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness - The Smashing Pumpkins.

It was the start of a very, very happy time in my life (despite the name, that album makes me so happy. Its my all-time favorite).

The Matrix Soundtrack featuring My Own Summer was probably a big one too. It took me out of my nu-metal Staind and Linkin Park phases and threw into the world of REAL metal where I discovered the Deftones and got totally hooked.

I wouldn't say that Mer De Noms changed my life exactly, but its definitely the most nostalgic album I could ever listen to. Its like a time machine... its very powerful.

Mer De Noms = October.

But as a whole I'd say

The Jimi Hendrix Experience - Are You Experienced? (This album changed my view of music)

Deftones - Around The Fur (I don't think I've played any other cd as much as this one. Changed the entire way hear dynamics in music.

Cave In - Jupiter (Musically, took me to places and opened my mind to so much more. This album is an experience. Nuff said.)

Poison The Well - The Opposite Of December (This album got me into hardcore and everything in between of the heavy music spectrum, as I'm sure it did for a lot of people)

Denali - S/T (Beautiful music.)

The Dillinger Escape Plan - Calculating Infinity (The best band in the world. Hands down.)

Mastodon - Remission (At a close 2nd to Dillinger)

The Fall Of Troy - Doppleganger (The most hypnotic album I've ever heard. It never leaves my head.)

Curl Up And Die - We May Be Through With The Past, But The Past Ain't Through With Us EP's
(Heavy, punk, emotional, melodic, passionate, technical, everything that I enjoy in music.)

Botch - We Are The Romans (The most important heavy music album from any genre to come out in the last 15 years. I can't think of many hardcore/metal bands that are out now, who don't blatantly rip off this band.)

nice selection dude. all of these albums are very influential.

john frusciante - niandra lades & usually just a t-shirt - this is probably the most important album to me, got me through very hard times.

Mogwai - Come on Die Young - i love this album, i put it on whenever im down or want to think about shit.

Queens of the Stone Age - Restricted - in my opinion qotsa's best, this introduced me to the genius that is Josh Homme, which led me to KYUSS!!!!!!

Deftones - White Pony - id never heard deftones before, and my mate put them on, on our road trip to wellington, as soon as i heard digital bath that was it. i was hooked. FOREVER.

Slint - Spiderland - another album thats influenced my guitar playing. especially since seeing david pajo play live, he had that whole bar caught up in what he was doing.

Deftones-Around the Fur
Deftones-White Pony (I know I know, three Deftones albums)
The Smashing Pumpkins-Adore
My Bloody Valentine-Loveless

Buying these CD's were like pivital moments in my life--whether it be for musical or personal reasons. The list of albums I LOVE and have listened to countless times is much, much longer--but these instigated a change of some sort.

Deftones-Adrenaline

This album was an instand hit with me. I had liked Korn before hearing Deftones, but after my first listen, I was hooked. I knew they were a much more talented band.

Thursday- Full Collapse

That album got me away from nu-metal back in 8th grade. Although, I didn't really listen to much nu-metal (maybe like 3 bands) I listened to more new wave/80's music.

Saetia- A Retrospective

This is what got me into more emo violence, fast, more raw shit. I love this band.

..Yeah don't go there,

I let you get to me

yeah yeah.

c4 LoveLetter

detones - white pony
deftones - adrenaline
mudvayne - LD50

okay these albums all have their own special memories and have changed my whole perspective of music. they have  made a huge impact on my life "growing up" one way or another and will always be apart of my cd collection

Same here. Strange, but same.

City In Fiction

I don't know how I forget to mention this, and I'm surprised no one has yet, but: "Everything You Ever Wanted To Know About Silence" by Glassjaw, completely changed my view of what heavy music is/could be.
Love is a disgusting thing.
