I wonder if franks synth work on this album will beat ohms... I dont think so because frank ohms era is just a masterpiece
My dad says Deftones gay, but he doesn't know real music

I think he can top it. Out of all the members, I'd say his work is what has expanded more than anything. Each album his presence becomes more and more prominent. His synths on MMIAM are pretty massive in some parts, especially if you listen on a nice pair of headphones.

We are going to get fair share of Frank I believe. He is always active and albums, especially since Koi.

Having said that, my bet is on especially strong delivery from Stef. He looked super happy in  Zane video, like in totally different vibe than pre Gore interviews.

Dawn of War is going to flip. So cool of Steph to do this for the new songs.

Yeah I liked that a lot. There are tons of comments on the old videos about how he's "not really playing" because you supposedly can't hear him in the mix. I bet it was to address all that.

Steph has a playthrough of MMIAM on YouTube

This timestamp is cool. The bridge sounds so rich without distortion. love it. Gives a Hexagram intro vibe

IMO the reason why Frank's job has been super important is because of Stephen's tendency to only want to low end CHUG CHUG CHUG with a 8+ string guitars since Diamond Eyes. Something need to fill the middle and high frequencies, that is usually done by the guitar.

Draken

I liked how it showed Steph out of the mix so you can just hear his playing. Wasn't expecting the video to come out that quickly.

Frank is integral to their sound at this point, when he started in the band his presence was so buried in the music it was really just added atmosphere. But yeah it's nice to have other band members shine in the songs.

976-EVIL

Kinda funny, for many an Album cycle the debate was is this a Chino or Steph Record?

Frank has entered the conversation.
One last Thing...You Should Beware the Content!!

Thank God that you........ love..... at all.

buflen

I am not sure why but I always felt Gore was a Sergio album. Maybe its how I explained myself why its my least favorite.

Draken

Gore is a miss for me, every band has to have a stinker and that for me is theirs. I think they were just burnt out or something, idk. Steph admitted to not initially being into it or motivated to play anything on it. That was definitely a Chino album, and considering what Steph shared recently on Zane Lowe, it sounds like he is still working at raising the bar. Gotta be a lot of pressure to consistently crank out the riffs, especially  working with such diverse players.

I'll say this too, that after SNW Steph seemed to just adopt that CHUG style and I'm personally sick of it. It's cool when used to create songs like DE, but the post-Chi stuff just seems to have the chugga chugga be his go-to on his part. Like Chino always delivers his best, you know Abe always brings it, and Frank does his thing. You can see that carry over into this new song. Steph just needs to push himself out of that comfort zone a little, write some more notes lol.

plagasx

Yea, I hope we get more weird unique shit like Entombed and Cherry Waves on this album please.

nicklav

I just want more walls of sound. Every album has a few songs that always deliver, so I'm not worried. I do feel the fatigue though about the chugging.

Moana91

I don't want the album to come out...
Good evening... and welcome to the white pony

DenakDW

I kinda feel that MMIAM lacks that creative spark on guitar, I know the song is short and repetitive to a certain point. But to me it just feels like Steph delivered the minimum on this track.
And all the days I've missed you 🍂

buflen

I mean Steph has been phoning it in for more than a decade at this point and the music is still great. It's Steph.

sharinglungs

There's always a repetitive riff track on the album. Diamond Eyes isn't anything special, but it's fucking good.

Swerve City is a repetitive riff. Still good.

Genesis.. is pretty much the same riff over and over

Ohms is the same way.. except he reverses the riff at the end, still good.

I'm not worried that we wont hear any killer riffs, but they're generally not the singles.
