Another Deftones music video I'll never watch again in my life.

God bless them, it's the one part of their art they clearly don't care all that much about.

LOL, yeah videos not their strong suit. However "You've Seen the Butcher" is pretty good.

You've seen the Butcher might be their best one tbh. As far as "band playing in a location" videos go, I think Minerva might be their best as well. I just love the way that video is shot, out in the desert, it's such a good music video for how simple it is. Really captures the essence of that song.

Yea, I still think Change is their best video. It's just so damn atmospheric and fits the song PERFECTLY. But Butcher is a close 2nd, Minerva third and I have a soft spot for Back To School since it's so damn nostalgic and makes me really think about the fun times in High School 😩

Oh that's right good point. 🤦I haven't watched it in a while, I forgot lol.

They were forced to get creative with the Ohms and Genesis videos because of Covid. They had to shoot their scenes separately, then composited the footage to make it look like they were playing together. Same for Genesis. I feel like that may have helped them make a more interesting video because they had to fill in the gaps with cool cgi visuals on Ohms. Sometimes being limited in what you can do can spark more creative ideas.

my huge issue with the Change video is the radio edit which almost ruin the song.

Pretty standard performance video, well-shot though. I feel like they could have spiced it up with some landscape shots and glitchy post-effects interspersed with the band shots but whatevs.

A lot of their videos are pretty plain Jane, but I like some of them, many for nostalgia purposes. The Change video always stood out to me for how weird and creepy it is, and Ohms is visually awesome (they should keep working with that director). HITE is definitely the worst one, which is a shame because it's a great song.

The budget for music videos are probably peanuts compared to what they used to be. I guess you can make a lot with nothing if you are very creative, but hiring creative people is probably too expensive anyway.

You lucked out that they listened. That shit is sold out now. Would totally suck if they cancelled it. I've bought expensive things before and had buyer's remorse, but in the long run I'm glad I bought it. You'll feel the same once you get that record in your hands. I went for the jacket and vinyl combo, plus an CD. Also ordered the green vinyl variant from Hot Topic.

In general, I really don't care about internet points. But I do want to point out that I think I was the first person on Reddit to mention the correlation between the song title and the statement that Chino made about Chi being a mountain of a man. I am Swerve City in discord and reddit.

Also, none of this means it's definitely related to him. But it is a nice little coincidence at least

My takeaway from MMIAM video is Chino looks great. I Would have loved more imagery that Rizz did for their live video assets they are currently using on tour. But all in all. Solid. Nothing special.

The Diamond Eyes era videos in general are pretty good. Especially Sextape, the video is gorgeous and is a perfect match for that song.

Video was fine, exactly what I expected based on the teaser screenshots. Maybe it's just my hype projecting, but the band seemed *really* in to this one. Maybe that what happens when some of these tracks are 2 1/2 years old and have been "private" for so long. The band really seems to just be enjoying all of this during the tour and album rollout. Glad to see them back!
