Im ready for album reviews to start leaking out. Detailed track by track reviews. I always enjoy reading those before I hear the songs

E-Money

I'm really thought Gore had a lot of cool moments on it. I still love Rubicon to this day. It's one of my favorite closers from them. But there's definitely something lacking about the record.

With ohms hearing the album closer as the single just ruined the experience for me. I know that sounds stupid, but there's just something about hearing a Deftones album closer for the first time. It was a bummer to not have that experience. I'm so glad we will get that this time. And departing the body sounds like an amazing title for an album closer. Super stoked for that!

Quote from: plagasx on Jul 26, 2025, 06:54 PMYea, I hope we get more weird unique shit like Entombed and Cherry Waves on this album please.

I feel like we are going to get songs like that, I think Steph is the most transparent and he mentioned a little continuation of Koi in this album. I agree with yall's opinions too, Steph's been on autopilot for a while. Still love em, hope he has some real moments on this album.

Stef will definitely do something different fs, I feel like MMIAM is a bit different then most honestly,

I hate Tempest but it reminded me of it but in a good way this time,  MMIAM is a mix of Tempest, Genesis, and Urantia.
Also the KNY side from this song is coming from chinos vocals, its very spacey and like reverby like KNY [imo]
Sorry for the rant its 2 am and I need to gts
My dad says Deftones gay, but he doesn't know real music

Just to kick up the hornet's nest...  Have we agreed or are we assuming that MMIAM is going to seamlessly blend in to the following track? Though the song has nearly grown on me (I did NOT like it intitally because I fund it paint by numbers and a little lazy), the way this thing ends just infuriates me...

25 days until album release...

Possibly 18 days until second single release!
Good evening... and welcome to the white pony

MMIAM is trapped in my head again. Hadn't listened to it for about a week and then put it on in the car yesterday and now it's wormed its way back in.
I could float here forever

I wish they would record B-sides again. I think once we started expecting them, the band decided it was time to stop.

sharinglungs

I wish they would release the ones that they're holding on to

Or Bumble D and the Like Linus 1992 Maverick Demo That has Too Many Freaks and Guest in it in studio quality, not the crappy sounding demos that you can hear everywhere, I have been searching for a long time

dkdrunkenkid

This is the only thing I can find of the studio version from that demo they did for Maverick in 92 and this guy claims he has the whole thing but won't upload it...

Fair, I agree in my initial reaction but it has grown on me and I've kinda come to expect that approach from Steph now.

Will it seamlessly blend into the next song? We'd hope the tracks flow well into each other.

It always finds it's way back into my brain... Chino's melodies especially.

I really like Chino's vocal melody in MMIAM. It sounds like classic deftones.
