I read through the ohms stuff awhile ago and it seemed super hyped, im wondering is there gonna be a arg like Ohms did with the cards? Or is it just gonna drop

The problem is they themselves have hinted at the possibility of releasing it, many times.

I remember Abe saying that they were talking about releasing it as an EP not that long ago.

It's the band that keeps the Eros fire burning.

If they're not releasing it, why not just firmly announce it?

Daniel P Carter posted a story on ig showing him interviewing chino. Looks like a media blowout next week

He did mention on Monday night that they were going to do a start-to-finish play of the new album on his show in the next few weeks, spliced with an interview with Chino.

As long as deftones is not fully official about never releasing Eros, people will ask about it. It's deftones music that exists that no one ever heard, especially with Chi on it, it's obvious people want to hear it. I am pretty sure it will never happen so for me it's really useless to ask them about it.

I've always felt like we will eventually get Eros. Probably after the band calls it quits and retires. Some anniversary thing or a thank you to the fans. Either way, I do think we will inevitably hear the album in some form or another. I just don't think it will happen as long as the band is ACTIVELY making new music. Maybe not as soon as we'd like, but I think it will happen at some point.

Remember that Chino still need to finalize vocals and he really doesn't seem to enjoy the music on it. I don't think they will ever release unfinished songs while Chino is still alive.

I could see them possibly reworking the ideas for later output, but yeah I don't think we ever will (or even should) get it as it is. I wouldn't ask that of the band anyway considering the circumstances.

This is pretty much my stance too.

The only other thing I could imagine happening is quite unrealistic. End of career box set, and one of the albums is clearly stated that it's unfinished and not to be viewed as an album....... But give us at least some of the songs that may have vocals and some instrumental tracks. Give a portion of the proceeds from the box set to Chi's family. Deftones really are not the type of band to do anything like that though (probably put music out there that is unfinished). I just think it would be really cool for the fans to hear Chi's final work with Deftones. Ultimately though it is not our call to make so I will respect whatever the band decides. In the meantime I don't really even talk about it much.

The latest info on Eros we have is that Terry Date went and finished mixing the album, if they want to come back and finish what they started, it's there for them.
