https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KDnKIryNPgQ&t=27s

I guess it departed from the tracklist  ;D

I noticed that too though. A lot of things about this rollout have been very controlled but almost to a detriment. IDK if the marketing budget is low or what. Maybe they just want to make damn sure nothing gets out other than exactly what they want. After the many fiascos they've endured and we have devoured, I guess I can't blame them.

As yes DefFSho, great vibes here! No arguing and bickering this time around either lol. This is the only place in the world I feel like I can express my excitement for the songs this band can create without people thinking "That dude is weird". Even then I am sure some people get annoyed by my inability to make a concise post lol! I am genuinely sorry about that fwiw.
Throw your faith in me. I'll take you some place brand new....

I'm going with my "theory" lol.. the blue artwork was the "original" artwork, but at the last minute they went back and added departing the body to the album, but already sent the blue artwork to the printers, can't go back now, so they said fuck it and said we'll use that one for the cassettes. And THAT is why the album was 'delayed'.

If you look at the track listing closer you'll see that "I think about you all the time" and motm are taking up two lines each. My guess is whoever the visual artist is didn't catch it.

"Deftones is now streaming what very well may be one of my favorite songs they've ever written, "Milk Of The Madonna". This sounds like something from Saturday Night Wrist written for Koi No Yokan and I am absolutely here for it. If I wasn't already excited about Deftones' upcoming record Private Music – due out August 22 – then I sure as hell am now."

That's good to hear. He liked MMIAM too. He could switch up on album released but it's cool that he's enjoying these new songs. Not that his opinion really matters, I'm not the biggest fan of him these days - but a shit ton of people do value his opinion and maybe they'll garner even more new fans from the ol' mellon.

And he admitted something we've already known for 20 years: Chino can't make up his mind about song titles and/or what songs even should or shouldn't be on the album. I can get on board with that theory. And makes sense that cassettes were made first as they probably take longer due to the fact very few cassettes are produced these days. (At least I would think, I could be talking nonsense lol)

Because he's been on YouTube for 10+ years. At the time no one was reviewing music, and Pitchfork was running out of steam - so a lot of people kinda pivoted to Fantano. I used to like his takes for the most part, except for some reason he hates Tool and Deftones lol.. I've stopped watching his content over the last few years. He tends to cover a lot of pop and rap music these days more so than cool indie bands.

Said it kicked ass and that he was really impressed, liked it even more than the last single. He reiterated that he's liked their stuff despite some people thinking that he doesn't/has it in for them. Also brought up quite enjoying SNW.

This was on the new music friday stream.

StarSlinger

It's not that he's completely hated on Deftones or anything - it's just when he talks about them, he has this smarmy "too cool" for this attitude in the past.. He's come off a little passive aggressive towards reviewing their music at times but he's had some good things to say about them as well. Bit of a mixed bag when it comes to Fantano x Deftones. Maybe the new album will bring him fully around.

Far away

Quote from: Moana91 on Aug 08, 2025, 10:52 PMNo shade on younger fans, but reading your comments and reflecting on my own experience, the longer you've been a fan, the heavier the relation to the band gets... for the better and for the worst.

It's just not the same when you've been on this train for DECADES.

It gets very personal and emotional.

100% this. Ive first listened to Deftones when I was 15, 16..Im 43 now. I still, to this day, get very excited about new records dropping. This one is no different. Just bc I didnt like a song, out of 11 or whatever it is, doesnt mean I think the record is going to suck. Who knows? Maybe listening to it with the full thing blasting...might change how I feel about MOTM.

Im glad Im older now, because until I was able to watch them live for the 1st time in '07 (I dont live in the US/Europe, so its harder for us down here to see them live) I was obsessed. After it, things got healthier, lol.

Bump! Dude is some kinda mind reader...

Quote from: RaptureWS on Aug 08, 2025, 08:56 PMJust want to throw my hat in as well. Also been a fan since the '90s. I found them during ATF so this is my 8th album cycle. Deftones album drops are like genuine life events for me. I always  at least try to save vacation time so I can focus purely on the album. And as mentioned earlier, it's just such a great feeling to be in my 40s now, but have something that I look forward to that makes me feel like I'm in my 20s. Every single album I have adored. I do not love any other album more than the next (except ATF which will always be my GOAT).

I guess the only thing I cannot relate to is the excitement fading. It has never faded for me. Every single album I feel just excited as I did during my first album drop, watching all the leaks and song names. My entire family knows that every few years, I have about a month where my entire focus is this new album. This was the longest wait ever, but I have a feeling it's going to be worth every moment of it. I don't know how many more times we'll get to do this. For all we know this could be the last. I am so thankful that the band continues to make music. I know they do it for themselves and not for us, but it means everything to me that they are willing to make that music and share it with us.

But yeah I just enjoy the moment and I cannot wait for this thing to drop :) I have multiple CDs ordered, a new shirt ordered, and my digital order so I am ready to rock!

Respect Rapture!
One last Thing...You Should Beware the Content!!

Thank God that you........ love..... at all.
