I made the mistake of looking at the subreddit. That's a different sort of fan over there.

Every time I go there I waste so much energy trying to be kind, but educate the younger fans. Or I get annoyed and just leave lol. One post was "I hear Fleshwater influence on these new songs". I wrote this long ass comment assuring them Deftones are not listening to and pulling influence from this new wave of Deftonescore/nugaze/grungegaze bands. SMH....

There are too many people on Reddit, it prioritises the new content, and there aren't really enough things to discuss every day. So people essentially make shit up to talk about; and if it can stir up the strongest opinions, the better; hence all the interminable unpopular opinion threads.

Yeah throwaway comments become threads. Someone isn't keen on the new songs on here, they just say it on this album thread and it probably gets brushed past. I hate that reddit twists and turns every crumb of information into a narrative. Every song has to be about specifically something.

I read a comment just straight up claiming ,,Chino said I Think About You All The Time is about Chi." based on the Zane Lowe interview. No, he did not. He did say later on that he thinks about him (Chi) all the time. Possibly as a nod to the song title, yes. But nowhere did he say that the entire song and its lyrics are specifically about Chi.
Chino said that in previous interviews his lyrics are never about something specific. So that probably ain't going to be the case with I Think About You All The Time.

But I can see people already replying to that dude on reddit with ,,Oh that's amazing, I didn't know that!" and it's starting to snowball into factual Deftones lore in the minds of reddit fans...

......................... The two singles sound great and I would actually hope for a music video for milk instead of a third single. And I don't even care for their music videos because I can tell they don't either. Really excited for the record and holding out now for it to pop up in my music stream pre-ordered and get in the mail a couple days later and grab my shit. i'm kind of surprised the booklet didn't sell out that is limited at 5000. That kind of tells me something about the New drove of fans. I have always ordered something special if it was available because I love them. A lot of these freaks love them because everybody loves them if you get what I mean. And I'm not talking about every single one of them, but I would say most of them. Good for the band And good on them for appreciating and welcoming everyone and anyone in. Maynard would probably say some off-the-wall shit out loud to offend people lol... you won't get that from Chino and company

Milk is too catchy to not have a video. One of the recordstores that heard it early mentioned their were a couple radio friendly tracks. Maybe is there is another track that is just a catchy or even moreso than MOTM and the music video budget is for that one? But yeah Deftones only have *one* video I watch semi-regularly, which is Sextape. Not because of the two young girls either lol. It's just vibrant and colorful and matches the vibe of the song perfectly.
