I think a lot of it is just younger people who just got into deftones or are more casual fans. Never had a Deftones album cycle and prob mainly like the TikTok tracks.  This album was def made for them.

You know what I mean.  This album is made for the new batch of fans and it's obvious.  It sounds like AI generated Deftones and sounds so restrained.  Emotionless.

That's fine.  I just don't understand why sharinglungs came in so aggressive over a discussion about the contrasts between producers.  Odd behavior.

LMIRL is the biggest disappointment to me, just because of how excellent the beginning of it is. Then it just goes nowhere with that single string riff the whole time.

Besides Mein, MOTM also reminds me of one of my favorite SNW demos:

That reminds me that for the longest time I've thought the inflection point of this band could have been as far back as Finger of Death. If that had been the guiding light for SNW and Chino and the gang had their stuff together, the Deftones that would have came out of that would have been my favorite incarnation of the band. That might be their best song never recorded. The live version is just so unreal and so unlike anything else.
