Dude could you imagine how incredible and crisp that would be?  Digital Bath type production on it.  I've always thought about this

Should we start referring to the Nick albums as the NickTok albums? 🤭

LMIRL is the biggest disappointment to me, just because of how excellent the beginning of it is. Then it just goes nowhere with that single string riff the whole time.

Yeah could have been a classic.  It went off the rails quick

I have a strong feeling their next album will by produced by him...

I might be in the minority here, but I love cXz... the bridge is beautiful to me.

One of my favorites too. Love the lyrics and yes, the bridge.

Also, the point needs to be made:

Steph's fundamentalism with the whole "philosophy of the power chord" has watered down the band's sound from DE onwards.

That stupid 7th string chugga chugga has dumbed down many of the new songs, regardless of who's producing.

Yeah I miss those driving vibe riffs he used to constantly churn out.  His riffs always sounded like you'd be driving to them and it was tremendous.

That's why Milk and cXz stand out to me.

Yes! I said the day it came out, Milk's guitar is the best from Steph since SNW.

Although guitar on This Link is Dead is also fucking amazing.

I fucking love milk of the madonna, it's a great single.

Quote from: phil for real on Aug 26, 2025, 01:44 PMYeah this album is manufactured and sad.  Zero emotion involved.  Clearly a cash in album.  Nick takes away all the best elements of Deftones.

The contrast 🤣🤣🤣

After a lot of listens, I have to say the run of the first 5 songs is incredible, the standout being ecydysis for me, it makes me feel 100ft tall listening to it, fucking incredible. cXy onwards is still good, but that part of the album is still growing on me, like all Deftones albums I appreciate that, time will really be good to this album.

That Reddit is brutal.  Saw people saying infinite source was like BQAD.  I'm like, have these people ever listened to music?  Unreal statements I see lol

I like Infinite Source a lot but yeah I don't know what you'd be smoking to come up with that take. This song is the furthest thing away from anything old-school Deftones

I've been calling it gradpop.  Sounds like a graduation day pop song.  A lot of people on that Reddit didn't appreciate it 😂
