I doubt I will get much support here but.

I think This Link is Dead is far better than TSOM.

Not from me, no... lol
In all seriousness tho, I respect your opinion.

Terry hitting switches or something or someone doing something with an instrument. Listen for it if u missed it. The record has a bunch of little sounds and ideas that give it more of a live feeling than any of their previous records IMO....

Not to discredit Terry whom I love. I think a lot of the overall great "sound"of Ohms should also go Howie Weinberg who mastered Ohms.

Personally I think it'd be cool of Deftones got Morten Lindberg to engineer a Deftones album and make their next album an Immersive Audio Album.

Going into something like my 4th listen, first time since the release week. Genesis sounds pretty great tbh

Keep saying the same thing . It's grown on me so much. Pompeji has as Well. Chinos just sounds amazing on Genesis.

Genesis is like surfing on awesome

Draken

Still listening off and on with breaks in between. I feel like this album embodies the best parts of their last 3 albums into one.

Gaz

Said this before, but Genesis is a banger and I really hope they open sets with it on tours. I'd love them to do Genesis, Korea, My Own Summer, Poltergeist as the front 4 songs. BANGERS

I read an interview with Butch Vig talking about producing Nirvana's Nevermind. Butch talked about how Howie played a big part in the great sound of Nevermind.

btw maybe a Team Sleep album would be better suited for an  Immersive Audio Album. In Dolby Atmos would be so cool.

This is very interesting. Would probably be incredible. I wonder though, lately anyways, if the whole band is still very interested in making anymore records. I think its the age of 50 that gets in my head when i think of them making any more Deftones records . Btw I am totally confident in them but are THEY still interested enough? Plus Chino keeps talking about how difficult it is with all of them living completely away from each other across the country. And then if this Covid thing sticks around like a lot of people suspect, the fact that they won't be able to tour could also lean more towards them not wanting to make any more music. I can't imagine them writing any more material if they can't play it live for us which is who they are and what we all want. But yeah maybe like something you're talking about here would be something they could toy around with as something new and experimental for them. Would be great wouldn't it?

Currently obsessed with Radiant City. That song grooves so hard. Didn't initially dig what Abe was doing on the chorus but I really like it now, especially with the hi-hat placements.

It's one of the songs that benefits from no click as well. The way it pulls back tempo slightly going back into the main riff/verse is perfect.

A Deftones Immerisve Audio album mixed in Dolby Atmos would be awesome!! Like if they expanded with more ambience, textures, and dynamics.

Everyone in Deftones will probably always be passionate to make music together and also play live together as the Deftones. Even if some of the band thinks recording music with another band member in a studio is a pain. They'll also probably always be driven by a business sense to stay together in the long run to make money using deftones as a brand name - like licensing the deftones name to beer, Dia de Los Deftones, etc. -  in addition to being a band that records new music, releases that music, and plays that new music and their older music live.

There are already 2 Covid vaccines: https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/health/2020/11/16/moderna-pfizer-covid-vaccine-heres-what-we-know-them/6308571002/.
And apparently a good COVID treatment also: https://www.lilly.com/disease-areas/covid19.

So Deftones if you are reading this: make an Immerisve Audio album mixed in Dolby Atmos!

And fuck COVID!

I think the same exact thing each time I listen to it!!!!

Also took a while to grow on me. Chino sounds great at the end.

I almost played the album into the ground first week after it dropped but I haven't listened to it in like a month. Just letting it recharge. I'm so excited to go back to it one of these days  ;D

On a somewhat related note I just read TOOL used a very Dolby Atmos-esque 3D surround sound system for their latest live shows:
https://www.lsionline.com/timax-3d-immersive-audio-for-tool-tour
https://outline.it/2020/04/02/outlines-newton-processors-at-the-heart-of-tools-fear-inoculum-world-tour/

Would be cool if Deftones used a the same sound system as TOOL for playing live.

TOOL also is a band that would sound cool making an Immersive Sound Audio album mixed in Dolby Atmos.

Album of the year in Metal Hammer. Didn't expect that - I believe I'm right in saying it's the first time they've come top in Metal Hammer's end of year list.

Hesperian Death-Horse!

Just realized yesterday that one of the most charming aspects of how awesome this album is, is that at no point in any of the lyrics does Chino use the titles of the songs as a lyrics in that song. The closest he comes is "The Spell of Mathematics" but that's just a single word from the title.

There's just something about not saying the title of the song in the lyrics that really pleases me and every song on this album is an example of that. Bonus!
